International and Special Projects (IASP)

IASP, headed by Dr. Mona Chock, has two main responsibilities. First, it promotes the College of Education’s international activity, helps COE faculty connect with the faculty of universities around the world for collaboration on research projects and exchanges and represents the COE at international schools and conferences. The second responsibility is to assist with special projects at the COE, such as the Hawaii Writing Project.

Conferences and Events

Recently, IASP was pleased to organize the 2011 UHM COE and Bukkyo University International Conference. This marked the 11th joint conference of the two Universities.  The theme, Education Change, explored how technology, court decisions and even natural disasters can influence education. You can view video of the conference, which will not require a password, but will require that you provide your name and email address.

The expertise and research that the faculty from Bukkyo University and the UHM COE shared on September 20 is compiled in the proceedings. To hear the presentations and ensuing Q&A, feel free to refer to the full video of the conference, which is also posted below.
