Field Requirements

All Post-bac participants are required to complete 12 credits of field experience. PB-SPED students have two options of fulfilling field work requirements -- traditional field placement and "in place" field placement.

Students who choose traditional placements will be assigned by the field placement coordinator or PB-SPED program coordinator to teach in a special education classroom with a licensed special education teacher.

Students who are already employed as special education teachers are considered to be "in place." Students who are considering using their teaching positions to fulfill field requirements must obtain departmental approval prior to the start of their program.
