Please join us for the next Center on Disability Studies Speaker Series presentation by Dr. Elizabeth Holliday Morgan, Associate Professor of Education at Morgan State University. Dr. Morgan is an educator, researcher, and disability rights advocate focused on empowering BIPOC mothers and improving equitable access to special education services. She uses community-based research to amplify marginalized voices and prepare future educational leaders and advocates.
Dr. Morgan will present “Promising Practices for Black Autistic Children and Their Families.”

The College of Education is offering an online Substitute Teacher Course. The online course runs for six-weeks and is completely asynchronous (no scheduled class meetings). The fee for this non-credit course is $100.00. Students who successfully complete the course will be eligible to apply to become a Hawaii Department of Education (HIDOE) substitute teacher.
Enrollment is open for the following sections:
October 26 - December 4
Space is extremely limited and is first come first served. We hope to offer additional sections during Spring 2027.
College of Education teacher candidates may be eligible to substitute periodically for their mentor teachers per program guidelines, and also on days when they do not have scheduled field or other program courses.
