EDEF 470: Ethic Groups and Education in Hawaii

This course strengthens student scholarship by introducing legal principles, educational rights, and their application and limits, particularly for Native Hawaiian and other marginalized groups, with brief attention to international law.

This course provides an in-depth review of social, philosophical, and historical views underlying various theories of education and their applications in teaching and learning.

Stipend available for Hawai’i Early Childhood Educators! 💲🎓
Eligibility requirements:
- Must be officially enrolled in ECE generalist degree, certificate or licensure program within the UH system
- Must be registered for courses in an eligible ECE pathway by application deadline
- Must meet with an ECE faculty advisor by application deadline
-Must commit to work in early care and education services directly to children from birth through 5 years of age for at least two consecutive years in one of the pre-kindergarten early learning systems
