Alyssa Kapaona, Office of Student Academic Services (OSAS) advisor, has written a book for young children entitled Emma's Adventure: Mommy's Work Trip. The book is based on her experience leaving her daughter for the first time to attend a conference. She wanted a way to explain the abstract nature of working in higher education to her young child. In Emma's Adventure, Kapaona combines her knowledge of early childhood education and her love of writing to create a story. Published with assistance from the Curriculum Research & Development Group (CRDG), she will hold a book signing on Friday, March 15, 2019 during the NACADA Regional Conference at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa.
