Meeting Admission Deadlines
If you cannot meet the MEd admission deadline, you may apply to UH Manoa as an unclassified graduate student. If you are accepted into the program after enrolling as an unclassified graduate student, you may transfer a maximum of 12 unclassified credits.
GPA and TOEFL
Applicants require a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Students from foreign countries, where English is not the dominant language, must also submit the results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The desired score for the paper-based test is 550 or above, and for the internet-based test, 79 or above.
STEPS TO APPLY
1. Submit an Office of Graduate Education (OGE) Application
Please carefully review the OGE application instructions and comply with the most current requirements and submission procedures.. It is a good idea to submit copies of all graduate division application materials to the COE department you are applying to with your COE application materials.
International students may have different deadlines and requirements.
2. Submit a College of Education Application
- Two letters of recommendation
- Statement of objectives
- Brief resume
