Description:  Scholarship recipients will be selected from students committed to attending The University of Hawai'i Manoa. The Scholarship funds will be used to assist the winners with the cost (i.e. books, tuition housing etc.) of attending The University of Hawai'i's Manoa Campus.
Purpose:  The Brian Kajiyama Heart of a Warrior Scholarship is intended to aid in the continuation of post-secondary education for students in Hawai’i who have overcome great personal challenges to succeed academically, athletically, or socially. Scholarship recipients will be selected from students committed to attending the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa. The scholarship funds will be used to assist the awardee(s) in the costs (i.e. books, tuition housing etc.) of attending the University of Hawai'i's Mānoa campus.  
Basic Criteria
Campus:  Manoa Level:  Undergraduate Need Based:  No
College:  Education Standing:  Any Min GPA:  2.8
Major:  Any Residency:  HI Resident only Gender:  Any
Enrollment Status:  The applicant must be a high school senior, enrolling at UHM as a full-time undergraduate student.
Additional requirements: Selection will be based on the following information:            Recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA and a high standard of personal conduct and character at all times. The first year recipient will commit to meet on a regularly scheduled basis to be mentored personally by Brian Kajiyama. Upon completion of the student’s first year that student will be required to mentor future winners, with Brian Kajiyama, in an act of “paying forward” the benefits he or she received.
