Description:  The Autistic Center of Hawai'i was the pioneer in the establishment of a school for individuals with autism for more than a decade until its closure in 1995, and had no association, affiliation or any connection with other autistic or non- autistic organization.
Purpose:  The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships to assist students enrolled in the special education program at the College of Education at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa to help individuals with developmental disabilities, to enable them to lead meaningful and productive lives.
Basic Criteria
Campus:  Manoa Level:  Undergraduate or Graduate Need Based:  Yes
College:  College of Education Standing:  any Min GPA:  3.0
Major:  Special Education, Elem Education & Special Educ Residency:  US Resident only Gender:  Any
Enrollment Status:  Full-Time
Additional requirements: The prospective recipient should have some degree of financial need, not necessarily by federal guidelines. Preference given to a graduate of a Hawaii high school.
