Health and Exercise Science is part of the allied health care discipline, primarily dealing with the study of the how individuals can influence their own state of wellness, the response and adaptation of the human body to physical activity and sports participation, and how modern management skills can be used to help others achieve a higher state of wellness and better use of their leisure time.
This program area has been structured to enable the student to design an academic curriculum that reflects their individual interests in this program.
Career paths within this area of study include, but are not limited to: athletic training, exercise physiology, sports nutrition, physical therapy, rehabilitation counseling, and personal training.
Additionally, this degree program has been designed to fulfill the requirements for entry into graduate programs in the area of allied health sciences (e.g. Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physicians Assistant, etc.).
This is an on-campus traditional degree program.
