Hosted by the Center on Disability Studies (CDS) in the College of Education since 1988, Pac Rim has evolved into an international conference that has welcomed thousands of presenters and attendees from across Hawaiʻi, the nation, and the world.

 

Saturday 2/27/2021 is Pac Rim Innovation Celebration Day!
Dean Murata will open up the day – we have an international forum, film screening, live music, well-being session, STEM activities, SPIN (Special Parent Information Network) sessions, and more. Some of the notable speakers of the day include: Manu Meyer, Maile Meyer, UN Special Rapporteur: Gerard Quinn, AUCD Executive Director: John Tschida. Live music by Kawika Kahiapo. Special film screening is of Doug Rolandʻs film.

Monday, 3/1/2021 is Pac Rim Day 1
Our keynote speaker is Judy Brewer, Director of Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI). We have 9 topics with live sessions and porter sessions.

Tuesday, 3/2/2021 is Pac Rim Day 2
Our closing plenary speaker is Haben Girma, Disability Rights Lawyer, Author and Speaker with Session Discussant, Kapuaʻala Sproat from UH Law School. All sessions will have captions and ASL interpreter.
