The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa College of Education (COE) proudly concluded another outstanding season of COE Summer Programs, welcoming 281 students who participated in 37 engaging classes designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning.
Over the course of the summer, students entering grades 1 through 9 immersed themselves in a wide variety of educational experiences that extended far beyond the traditional classroom. From science experiments, robotics, engineering, and culinary arts to dance, journalism, art, nature exploration, and outdoor adventures, each class provided meaningful opportunities for students to develop new skills, build confidence, and create lasting memories.
One of the hallmarks of the COE Summer Programs is its commitment to hands-on, project-based learning. Students explored Hawaiʻi’s unique environment through hiking, snorkeling, paddling, and environmental investigations, while others discovered their creativity through art, performance, cooking, and multimedia projects. STEM courses challenged students to think critically, solve real-world problems, and collaborate with their peers in innovative ways.
The success of the program would not have been possible without the dedication of our exceptional teachers, teaching assistants, counselors, and support staff. Their enthusiasm, expertise, and genuine commitment to student success created a welcoming environment where every child was encouraged to learn, explore, and grow.
We also extend our sincere gratitude to the parents and families who entrusted us with their children this summer. Their continued support allows the College of Education to provide enriching educational experiences that help students discover new interests while fostering academic, social, and personal development.
As we celebrate another successful year, we are reminded that the impact of the COE Summer Programs reaches far beyond the classroom. Friendships were formed, confidence was built, new passions were discovered, and students left with experiences that will continue to shape their educational journeys.
The College of Education looks forward to welcoming both returning and new families next summer as we continue our tradition of providing innovative, engaging, and high-quality educational programming for Hawaiʻi’s youth.
