The Curriculum Research & Development Group (CRDG) is excited to announce that Summer Programs registration is now open for this summer’s learning opportunities. Register before March 19 to receive a $50 early bird discount, and all UH employees can enjoy another $50 discount using the code SP23UH on full-day core programs. In addition, use code SP23SAVE to save another $50 on each class when registering more than one child.
New Classes
CRDG Summer Programs is devoted to providing high-quality programs with experienced instructors in a safe learning environment for our keiki. We offer a variety of courses, from our well-known Hawaiʻi Nature Studies to hands-on STAM and art classes, to spark a lifelong love of learning! This year we offer some new classes and here are just a few of the things your child will do:
- Science Lab: Undersea Explorers (Grades 7-10) – Students will explore the life found within the ocean’s coast to the continental shelf, such as how different seabirds and crabs are unique to their environment.
- STEM Workshop: Journey to the Stars (Grades 1-3) – Students will view life on a space station, learn about lunar landings, investigate other planets, and study the stars.
- Summer Adventure: Junior Challenger (Grades 1-3) – Students will participate in team games and challenges, explore scenic hiking trails, read and follow a map, practice teamwork and sportsmanship, and more.
- Summer Adventure: Innovators (Grades 6-8) – Students will be part of a structured learning experience around a weekly focus area. Session A will guide students in conceptualizing, creating, and presenting various art and animation projects. Session B will guide students in conceptualizing, creating, marketing, and selling their own product. In addition, they will learn the basics of economics and how to keep track of their expenses and profits.
