The #BeKindToAStudent Scholarship
Criteria to Apply
Applicants must meet the following criteria to apply:
- Must be enrolled part- or full-time as an undergraduate or graduate student in the UHM College of Education at the time of application and at the time of disbursement
- Must demonstrate a commitment to serving the Filipino community
- Must demonstrate financial need, though not necessarily determined by federal guidelines
- Must demonstrate academic merit, as determined by the selection committee
- Preference will be given to students who have graduated from a high school in Hawaiʻi and/or who have transferred from a UH community college.
What Can You Do?
- Apply – If you believe that you meet the criteria to apply, please submit your application. We recommend that you take some time to answer the essay questions on the application before you submit and give your recommenders ample time to submit their recommendations.
- Spread the Word – Please consider forwarding this email to your networks, especially to students who you think might meet the criteria to apply. Please also consider posting the attached flyer at your office or in your department.
- Donate – We could not offer this scholarship without generous support. Please consider making a donation. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.
