COE VPN Installation (macOS)

This tutorial shows how to install the COE VPN for macOS. Please note that the COE VPN should only be installed on COE owned and managed computers.

Open your browser and go to the following link: vpn.coe.hawaii.edu

Sign in using your UH credentials.

Click on the icon corresponding to your OS and the download should begin. The installation file will appear in the download section of your browser and in your Downloads folder.

Open the downloaded file and double click on the .pkg file that appears. An installation window will appear. Click continue and enter your computer password when prompted to get through the installation.

When the installer is done move it to the trash and close the window.

To find the installed OpenVPN client, go to Finder  Go > Applications > OpenVPN Connect and double click the OpenVPN icon.

Click through the introductory information until you see the white screen with the grey disconnected button. Accept any prompts to run scripts. To connect to the COE VPN, click the button so that it turns green, and sign in using your UH credentials.
