I am a Specialist and the Interim Director of Technology and Distance Programs in the College of Education at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. My research focuses on online teaching and learning, instructional design, and the integration of digital tools in higher education. My work is inspired by my experience as an instructional designer in higher education. I am particularly interested in the practical application of theory and tools to improve online course design and teaching strategies. I explore how faculty beliefs, institutional support, and design choices affect the quality of online instruction, as well as how student perceptions of structure, connection, and engagement influence their online experiences. Through scholarship and practice, I am committed to helping faculty design more engaging, equitable, and innovative learning experiences that support student achievement in higher education.
