Growing Pilina, Seeding Ideas, and Building Local Research Connections
Join us for a research incubator event where you can share research ideas, dream up possibilities, network with local school partners and UH staff who support faculty in seeking funding. As a group, we will also share knowledge and experiences of culturally congruent practices and approaches to working with schools and communities in Hawai’i. This event is designed for emerging faculty and researchers, as well as those with years of experience who want to join in the conversation and networking.
Meet & Learn (30 min)
- School partners from University Laboratory School, Hanahau’oli School, and UHM Children’s Center will share their interests in collaborative research projects with COE faculty
- Office of Strategic Philanthropic Partnerships (OSPP) and COE Grants Support Center Director will introduce ways their offices support funding opportunities and proposal development.
Connect & Network (60 min)
- Share your research interests/topical ideas
- Discuss school- and community-based research you are interested in exploring
- Make connections and explore potential collaborations
Discuss & Reflect (30 min)
- Reflect on what was shared and make connections to culturally congruent practices for conducting research in Hawai’i schools and communities
