    Brief Biography

    Monica Gonzalez Smith, PhD is a qualitative researcher. Her teaching experiences began in Miami, Florida, were she taught in title one public schools to majority Spanish-speaking primary and secondary students. Her research centers on the use of reflective methodologies for second language teacher education (SLTE) and tools such as sheltered instruction lesson planning and the observation protocol (SIOP), content and integrated language learning (CLIL), cultural and linguistic responsive instruction, and intercultural communicative competency (ICC).
