Join us for the EDEF Monthly Talk : “Leading Organizations as a Researcher“

Friday, November 22nd, 2024, from 12:00 – 1:30 PM in Wist 233.

Dr. Darin Lim Yankowitz, the Senior Vice President of Recruitment at Teach For America, will be our speaker.

He will share insights on applying academic research methods in both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. Darin will share an overview of how (as a graduate student) he worked with a leading business school to study their personalized learning program and establish a system of continuous, iterative improvement. Then, he will share how he continues to draw upon research methods (as the leader of a 150+-person team) to set strategy and drive outcomes. We will discuss the opportunities and challenges of applying an academic skillset as practitioners, with the aim of supporting students to explore whether they might be interested to explore roles in for-profit and nonprofit industry.
