Kaipo was part of the 2013-2014 Ethnomathematics Program and then joined the key staff team the following year. As the Mathematics Specialist at Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi in Keaʻau, Hawai‘i, Kaipo uses his ethnomathematics framework knowledge to assist in the integration of mathematics into all grades 6-8 subjects. Kaipo was born and raised in Kou (Chinatown) in Honolulu and he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Kaipo enjoys learning lau hala weaving patterns for various projects.
