Jaimie McMullen

Assistant Professor Jaimie McMullen, in the College of Education Department of Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Science (KRS), was elected as the next President for the National Association for Kinesiology in Higher Education (NAKHE). She was recognized at the 2026 NAKHE Conference in Nashville, Tennessee where she transitioned out of her Past-Vice President role and delivered three scholarly presentations.

“NAKHE has always felt like family to me,” McMullen said. “The organization and its members provide a supportive and welcoming environment for professionals across the kinesiology spectrum. I am excited to continue to serve this organization that has given me so much throughout my career and to do my part to ensure the continued positive impact of the organization to our profession.”

With the college for four years, McMullen was a student in KRS, earning a BEd in Physical Education. As a graduate student in 2008, she joined NAKHE and has since held numerous positions of leadership within the organization, including as editor of the International Journal of Kinesiology in Higher Education and Vice-President, as well as served on multiple committees.

“Organizations like NAKHE are important to the field of kinesiology because they promote leadership through mentoring and networking among administrators, students, and faculty across disciplines and institutions,” McMullen said. “These collaborations produce partnerships, projects, and resources to advance the field of kinesiology. NAKHE truly serves its members and always has their best interests in mind.”

In addition to serving on the NAKHE Board of Directors and Executive Committee, McMullen is a member of the Future Directions Committee, which will be revising NAKHE’s strategic plan. Her term as president starts in January 2027.
