Happy Healthy Holidays

Warmest Aloha and Holiday Wishes from the College of Education (COE). The top priority of 2020 continues to be the health and safety of our COE faculty, staff, and students. We have been committed to communicating and addressing COVID-19 related concerns, updates, and guidelines while remaining steadfast in our mission and goals. I am beyond grateful for the hard work and resilience that has been demonstrated by everyone, and I am optimistic as we continue to navigate the impact of this global pandemic.

The COE has remained at the top of national and international lists and rankings, coming in 69th out of 255 schools in U.S. News and World Report’s 2021 Best Graduate Schools. Our award-winning faculty and staff have continued to secure grant funding and recognition for their teaching, research, innovation, and diversity enhancement. Students and alumni have also continued to win awards for excellence, including principal and territorial teacher awards, State Teacher of the Year, and eight District Teachers of the Year.

Through the most trying of times, our COE ‘ohana has persevered. Our alumni association and advisory council have been instrumental in assisting the college through these challenging times. I am proud of all our faculty, staff, students, and alumni and feel honored to lead a dedicated and committed group of professionals. Please have a safe and healthy holiday season.

E Mālama Pono,

Dean Nathan M. Murata
