PDS Partnerships
A great strength of the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa (UHM), College of Education (COE) is its Professional Development School (PDS) partnerships. Built on the John Goodlad model (described below), UHM COE PDS partnerships help to unite the university with a number of P-12 schools to facilitate high quality teacher education, research, and schooling in the State of Hawai‘i. The benefits of the partnership are numerous, including improved teacher preparation, enhanced professional development, and ultimately, better student learning outcomes.
UHM College of Education
Currently, UHM COE PDS partnerships support a wide array of UHM undergraduates, graduate students, and doctoral students enrolled in a variety of COE programs by providing them with a number of accessible, real world, hands-on teaching and research sites.
