Why did you choose to become a teacher, in general?
I chose to become a teacher because I have a strong passion for helping others learn and grow. Teaching allows me to make a positive impact on students’ lives, inspire curiosity, and contribute to their development both academically and personally. I find fulfillment in creating engaging learning environments, supporting diverse needs, and fostering a love for learning that can shape students’ futures. It’s a profession where I can continually learn, adapt, and grow while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Why did you choose to become licensed in special education?
I chose to become licensed in special education because I am passionate about helping students with diverse learning needs reach their goals and shine. I believe that every child deserves an education tailored to their strengths and challenges, and I want to be a part of creating that inclusive environment. Special education allows me to make a meaningful impact by providing personalized support, advocating for students with disabilities, and helping them build confidence and independence. It’s a rewarding field where I can contribute to breaking down barriers and ensuring that all students have access to quality education.
Why do you feel it is important to have diversity in the classroom?
Having diversity in the classroom, is important because it fosters an inclusive learning environment where different perspectives, cultures, and experiences are valued. For students, exposure to diversity broadens their understanding of the world, promotes empathy, and helps them develop critical thinking skills. Diverse teachers serve as role models, offering varied approaches to learning and addressing the needs of students from different backgrounds.
