Why did you choose to become a teacher, in general?

I chose to become a teacher after being inspired by my kindergarten and 3rd grade teachers. They were the sweetest and most caring teachers I’ve ever had, and I knew I wanted to be just like them. I want to be the teacher that most students need.

Why did you choose to become licensed in special education?

I chose to become licensed in special education because after working with deaf students, I realized how much we need more qualified teachers, and I also realized just how much I didn’t really know. I wanted to learn more about how to be an effective special education teacher so that I am actually valuable to the learning growth of the student.
