Karen Kramer, MEd, is a Special Education teacher for students with mild to moderate disabilities at Hahaione Elementary School. Over the 18 years of her career she has held various special education positions, such as teaching high school students with moderate to severe special needs at Moanalua and Kaiser High School, was also a Transition Coordinator for 2 years at Kaiser High School, taught grades 3-5, and most recently teaches in grades 2 and 4.   She holds a bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Eastern Michigan University. In 2019, she received her Masters in Education in Special Education from University of Hawaii, at Manoa. She is certified in Special Education K-12 and certified in elementary education grades K-6.  Since 2019, she has been a Special Olympics Unified Basketball and Track coach at Hahaione Elementary school. She has been a cooperating teacher for the University of Hawaii ESEE program for 6 years.

Message to Teacher Candidate

Welcome to my classroom! I have been teaching for over 17 years in various special education positions in the state of Hawaii.  I have taught high school students with moderate to severe disabilities at Moanalua and Kaiser High School, I was also a Transition Coordinator for 2 years at Kaiser High School, taught grades 3-5, and most recently teach in 4th grade for students with mild to moderate disabilities.  I hold a bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Eastern Michigan University.
