Why did you choose to become a teacher, in general?

I chose to be a teacher because I believe in mentoring the next generation and seeing the best in the students. It is essential to understand that students need guidance and a teacher who understands their unique and individual academic needs and someone who believes in their academic success.

Why did you choose to become licensed in special education?

I chose to become a special education teacher because I want to help the individual needs of students who are mainly seen as struggling students. I enjoy the atmosphere of a resource or inclusion classroom and the updating of individual needs in the school and curriculum that allows the student to achieve academic success. I want to help find students who might feel defeated in the classroom to understand their work and find their way of loving school. This is important to note that because although academics might be challenging for a student, they can thrive academically.
