Why did you choose to become a teacher, in general?

When I attended high school, I had a teacher inspire me to become a teacher. I just admired the way she taught us and encouraged us to do better. As I became older, I decided I wanted to be that inspiration to other students. I want to help build a foundation for children to become successful citizens of the community.

Why did you choose to become licensed in special education?

At our school I see a need for teachers who know how to provide support and interact with autistic students. Our school seems to have an increase in the amount of students with this disability but we are still lacking in the ability to properly teach and support these types of students and families.
