Rose Nacion is a licensed Hawaii DOE Special Education Teacher, Severe/Profound K-6. She has been teaching students with autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, other health impairment, emotional impairments, intellectual disabilities, specific learning disabilities, developmental delays, and more since 2014. Throughout the nine years of her career, Mrs. Nacion taught students with extensive support needs as at Maunawili Elementary, Lunalilo Elementary, and students with mild/moderate disabilities at Lincoln Elementary. Mrs. Nacion has finally found her home at Noelani Elementary since 2018. She uses inclusive and evidenced-based practices to support students with their goals in a resource setting.  She has been privileged to undergo rigorous training at Windward District for Autism Assessments and Programming. She has worked with Windward and Honolulu District consultants to support students with extensive support needs. Prior to working as a Special Education teacher, Mrs. Nacion worked with the private sector in Manila for over fifteen years in administrative and specialist capacities. She earned her Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Special Education, K-6 Severe Disabilities/Autism from UH Manoa in 2013. Mrs. Nacion is currently the Special Education Department grade level chair at Noelani Elementary.

Aloha Teacher Candidate,

Welcome to Noelani Elementary School and welcome to my classroom! I am excited to have this opportunity to coach and mentor you as you continue your journey towards completing your program in special education and eventually become a special educator.

Be ready with challenges along the way, but be happy to know that you have a good team of special educators at Noelani community and the University of Hawaii. I will be here to support you, offering you my skills in classroom and behavior management, academic/lesson planning and instruction, data management and IEP development.

I look forward to getting to know you and working with you to prepare you to the real world of special education.
