Why did you choose to become a teacher, in general?

I chose to become a teacher because I love children. I want to help them succeed in life. I have worked at the public school system for 16 years and in that time I have enjoyed my job and what I do everyday.

Why did you choose to become licensed in special education?

I have worked in the fully self contained class room setting for over 10 years. It gives me a purpose in life that I have never experienced before. The joy of helping kids is amazing and I would love to work with the special education students.

Why do you feel it is important to have diversity in the classroom?

I feel it is important to include all people of ethnic race and different social backgrounds because it gives us the chance to get to know each other. Find strengths and weaknesses. Promote understanding in a safe environment.
