Why did you choose to pursue to pursue MEd Curriculum Studies, Interdisciplinary program?

I chose to pursue a Master’s in Multicultural Education to better support migrant students in Indo-Pacific countries, particularly in Thailand and Myanmar. My firsthand experience with migrant communities in my hometown, Mae Sot, has shown me the importance of creating educational environments where these students feel valued and supported. Through this program, I aim to gain new insights into educational models, technologies, and strategies that will help address the unique challenges migrant students face—whether academic, familial, or societal. My goal is to empower them to find their voices, build a sense of belonging, and contribute meaningfully to society. I believe that even small, meaningful changes in education can lead to real progress, and I hope to apply these lessons both in Thailand and beyond, contributing to a more inclusive world over time.

Why did you want to be a Social Media Ambassador for your program?

I am eager to become a Social Media Ambassador for my program because I believe in the power of effective communication to connect people and share important narratives. During my bachelor’s degree, I participated in the D’catch project, which focused on fostering mutual understanding and intercultural relationships among various Asian cultures, including China, Thailand, Japan, the Philippines, and Indonesia. This experience sharpened my ability to address complex topics, such as cultural stereotypes and beliefs, through innovative media strategies.

My multilingual skills in Karen, Burmese, English, and Thai have enabled me to bridge gaps between migrant students, workers, and local businesses, successfully securing 200,000 Baht (approximately $6,000) in in-kind donations for migrant communities. Additionally, my honors thesis received 80% of the audience’s popular vote among twelve presentations, showcasing my storytelling abilities and demonstrating my capacity to connect with diverse audiences.

As a Social Media Ambassador, I am excited to leverage these experiences to create content that is meaningful to various target audiences, supporting enrollment outcomes by engaging students from inquiry through graduation. I aim to represent and highlight the rich diversity of our student population while focusing on underrepresented groups, especially marginalized communities. By amplifying their voices and stories, I hope to foster a more inclusive academic environment where everyone feels valued and empowered.
