How I Practice STEMS²
I practice STEMS² by promoting collaborative learning in my classroom and allowing my students to share their opinions in a constructive way, while being open-minded to all perspectives. I teach intentionally with a purpose in mind during integrated units that include science, technology, engineering, and math grounded in sense of place and the social sciences. The concepts of STEMS² can be found within all places. I hope to instill in my students that questions can lead to more questions instead of answers, emphasizing A’o – the fact that we are always a teacher and always a learner.
