How I Practice STEMS²
As a SPED teacher I give students tools and foundational skills to access curriculum and I believe that STEMS^2 is beneficial for ALL learners as you focus on students’ assets instead of deficits. I practice STEMS^2 by valuing my students’ stories, by teaching them about our place, the significance of diversity and to always look at things through multiple perspectives. I advocate for my students and teach them to advocate for themselves and the things they care about.
