The Hoʻopili ʻAi Campaign – Uniting Keiki & Hawaiʻi Food Crops is a partnership with the Hawaiʻi Farm to School Hui that provides students, teachers, school staff and parents with the resources needed to build lifelong relationships between youth and Hawaiʻi-grown staple foods. The multimedia lesson plan introduces students to Hawaiian staple crops, ʻulu (breadfruit), kalo (taro), ‘uala (sweet potato) and pala’ai (squash) through the lenses of history, culture, culinary arts, health and agriculture in a single class period.
