Programs OSAS Advises For

E komo mai! OSAS provides academic advising to students in all undergraduate and teacher licensure programs, including Second Baccalaureate, Post-Baccalaureate, and Master's in Teaching on O'ahu and neighbor islands.

Types of Academic Advising Available

We offer a variety of ways and methods for you to connect with an advisor including Skype, email, face-to-face and phone appointments. Contact your local advising office to learn more.

Advising by Appointment 

Appointments can be for in-person, on the telephone, Skype or Collaborate advising.  To schedule an appointment, you can do so at  http://coeosas.appointy.com/ or call (808) 956-7915 and indicate what type of advising and which advisor you prefer.

Express Advising

Quick questions and general information on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the week, except Thursdays.  Express advising is not for transcripts, evaluations, and other advising activities that take more than 5 - 7 minutes to complete.

Walk-In Advising

For all OSAS-related services at peak times throughout the year, such as registration periods.  During those peak times, students can walk-in and are advised on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the week, except Thursdays

Collaborate

Collaborate is a web-based program allowing for collaboration with text, audio, and video.  Collaborate also offers the capabilities to share documents or a common workspace.  While sharing your documents, you can talk to and ask questions of your advisor.  Take five minutes to watch the Collaborate Tutorial first.  Required: Java Script and microphone is required, and that should already be installed on your computer.

Pu'uhonua: Hale for Native Hawaiian Student Support

Support for Native Hawaiian students in gaining admission into COE academic programs at the UH-Mānoa campus, at UH Community Colleges, at local high schools, and within the broader Hawaiian community.  Our goal is to build and strengthen the foundation for future generations of Hawaiian educators.  Email puuhonua@hawaii.edu for more information.

Recruitment & Informational Sessions

Meet one of our advisors at a recruitment, informational or satellite advising session in your area.  Se our upcoming sessions and come by!

Skype

Skype is a program that allows you to make voice and video calls and instant messages.  Calls made from computer to computer are free!  All you need to do is download Skype and add one of our advisors as a contact.  Required: Have a Skype username.
