What are aCRC Modules?

Our team has designed ready-to-use materials to teach computer science in your classrooms. Each module covers the Core Concepts & Practices of the National K-12 Computer Science Framework

These modules contain several lessons that include everything you need to teach including a Teacher’s Guide, Slides, and Activity Materials.

Please feel free to use and modify these materials for free in your classrooms!

Impacts of Computing

This unit has been designed to explore Hawaiʻi and its places, people, and their relationships with one another while analyzing how computing and technology can better our lives by utilizing electronic devices and programs in everyday tasks

Algorithms & Programming

Community, Petroglyphs, & SpriteLab (opens in a new window)

Students will be experiencing culturally relevant pedagogy, and working to make connections between their own lives and stories and the lives and stories of the early Hawaiians

Storytelling Through Digital Media (opens in a new window)

Students will be experiencing culturally relevant pedagogy, and making connections to Wayfinder, Moana’s experience. It is hoped that students can learn to relate to the experiences of others, as well as share their own stories.

Data & Analysis

Makahiki: Hawaiian Sports & Data (opens in a new window)

Students will be introduced to the concept of data and the visualization of data. They will learn to create tables and graphs and apply this knowledge to Makahiki sports and games.

Computing Systems

My Computer is Sick! Computer Anatomy and Troubleshooting (opens in a new window)

Students will learn about the hardware and software components of a computer and how they work together. By making connections to the human body, we learn how parts of systems work together to function.
