Driving directions: Park along Beach Road, or along Diamond Head Road if Beach Road is full (buses will have to drop students off at the top of Beach Road). Beach road ends just under the Diamond Head lighthouse. It looks like a driveway (and is sometimes missing the sign). Walk south along the shore, past a small cove, until you come to a flat bench with grooves. This is the OPIHI site.

Driving directions: Turn into Turtle Bay Resort. Park in the public parking area on your right at the end of the road, as close to the northern tip of the parking lot as possible. Walk east along the beach adjacent to the Hotel and into the next bay. The OPIHI intertidal site is the bench along the beginning of the beach. **Let Turtle Bay know if you will be conducting a field trip to get permission to drop off students by buy and use their bathrooms.**

Driving directions: Turn onto sand island access road. Follow to end to sand island park. Follow the road as far as you can—always staying on the right. When the road ends, you have to turn left into the farthest parking lot. Park near the bathrooms at the end of this parking lot. The OPIHI intertidal site is located a 10min walk to the right. Walk along the beach to right. You will walk over a concrete log located perpendicular to the shoreline. The OPIHI intertidal site has man-made concrete cobbles and is located just past a large concrete block located in shallow water.
