Why did you choose to pursue to pursue Master of Education in Teaching, Secondary Track program?
Teaching is not just about giving knowledge, it’s about honoring the moʻokuauhau of ike that has been passed down to me and ensuring that this knowledge is upheld and passed on. I am part of an intergenerational chain, connected to my kumu, kupuna, and ʻāina, all of which have contributed to my learning. This genealogy carries with it a responsibility. I owe it to those who have taught me, to carry their teachings forward. My teaching philosophy is not just to pass ʻike along, but to do so in a way that honors the significance from which it originated.
Why did you want to be a Social Media Ambassador for your program?
As someone who values connection and communication, I see this role as an opportunity to amplify diverse voices within the program, showcase meaningful learning experiences, and build a stronger sense of ʻohana among current and future educators. Serving as an ambassador would allow me to combine my creativity with my commitment to education helping others see the impact of teaching not only as a profession, but also as a calling that shapes communities and futures.
