Open-source Database Tool

KAPA, an open-source database tool developed by the College of Education (COE), was originally designed as a robust student information system for use by academic advisors. KAPA powers DCDC’s online application tool, Mākālei, which provides a student-friendly interface to collect data and walk students through the application process.

KAPA can be further adapted to various systems which merge organizational data, student/user records and workflow management. One such case is the UH’s Title IX Case Management System under development by DCDC for the UH System Office of Institutional Equity. With KAPA, the possibilities are endless in providing clients a custom database solution.
