Part of a joint initiative of the Hanahauʻoli School Professional Development Center (PDC) and UH Mānoa College of Education to advance social justice education, this course is aimed at growing local educators’ capacity for educating children and youth to be active participants in a diverse democracy. Each model follows a consistent structure, which provides learners with a sense of what to expect and how to engage with course content. Each of the seven modules first raises awareness, then leads learners to deepen their learning and their critical consciousness, and finally to commit to taking action. This visually stunning course features high impact imagery to inspire educators on their journey through the course.
