Research Overview
Dr. Tsuchida’s research has been the tale of two lines. First, her passion lies in examining inclusive physical activity programs and the impact that they have on students, teachers, parents, and communities. She is a cofounder of the Friday Night Prime Time program that provides interscholastic athletic opportunities to Hawaiʻi high schools and students with disabilities. She also oversees the inclusive physical activity clinic, PLAY (Physical Literacy for All Youth) for All program. Second, Dr. Tsuchida works closely with the Hawaii Concussion Awareness & Management Program and delivers and evaluates concussion related educational materials to schools and communities. It is clear that she takes an interdisciplinary approach to her work. Although her research is still emerging it will have a positive influence on educational and extracurricular programming in the State.
