All applicants must meet Graduate Division admissions standards and documentation requirements.

Applicants must submit:

  1. Evidence of an outstanding scholastic record in a master’s program from an accredited graduate school
  2. Have potential capacity for leadership in the field of education and administration, as attested to by at least three letters of recommendation from former professors (not in the Department of EDEA), immediate supervisors in employment, or close work associates
  3. Have had employment in the field of education appropriate to the track and area of emphasis (documentary evidence of employment must be submitted)

STEPS TO APPLY

Apply to Graduate Division

  • Complete a Graduate Application
    • Select Program: Education – PhD (Fall)
  •   Complete all four sections
    • Personal Information
    • Academic History
    • Supporting Information
      • ‘Documents’ section: If you have a copy of your unofficial transcripts you would like to include, you can upload it here, otherwise select “I Am Not Adding Any Documents”
    • Program Materials
      • Documents Tab:
        • Statement of Objectives: Upload your statement of purpose for pursuing a doctoral degree; Discuss in detail your professional goals. How might the PhD, Education: Educational Administration – Higher Education program relate to your professional development?
        • Writing Sample: Upload your evidence of competency in formal writing (i.e. masters thesis, research paper, etc)
        • Curriculum Vitae/Resume: Upload your most recent Curriculum Vitae
        • Supplemental Materials: Additional boxes for submitting materials are provided, but are not required. Feel free to leave blank if you do not have additional materials to upload. If you already have letters of recommendation, you can upload them here as well.
      • Recommendations Tab
        • Under Select Recommendations you can choose “+ Request New Recommendation” to add the contact information for each reference They will be notified to submit their letters on your behalf.

NOTE: International students may have different deadlines and requirements.

Once your application is complete, submit and pay the $100 non-refundable application fee.
