Abstract

The Hawai‘i Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference keynote address highlights the integral relationships between classroom, community, and civic engagement. The panel will discuss how ethnomathematics enhances classroom culture by creating systemic structures that encourage equitable mathematics teaching and learning inside and outside of the classroom. Keynote panelists from Blanche Pope Elementary School, Kailua Intermediate School, and University Laboratory School will share strategies to promote positive change by engaging with families, communities, and stakeholders.
