Join Our Team! Best Buddies at UH Mānoa
About the Event
The 2023 Best Buddies Friendship Walk is a FREE annual event open to all educators, students, friends, family, and dogs on leashes. Individuals who donate or fundraise a minimum of $50 for the event will receive this year’s event t-shirt! Lastly, if you cannot attend but would like to support the cause or sponsor one of our chapter members in their efforts to earn a walk t-shirt, please consider donating!

About the Organization
Mission
Best Buddies International is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Who We Serve
The IDD community that Best Buddies serves includes, but is not limited to, people with Down syndrome, autism, Fragile X, Williams syndrome, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, and other undiagnosed disabilities.
UHM Best Buddies Chapter
The 2022/23 academic year has been a rebuilding one for our chapter. We’ve had tremendous success and currently have 46 members made up of UHM college students and individuals with IDD. Our outings have included Sea Life Park, a Beach Bash, Honolulu City Lights, Waikiki Aquarium, Bowling, Movies, and more! Our members have created sincere friendships and often get together for fun outside chapter events, too!
