Student Ambassadors

In line with our goal of incorporating community voice and initiative, the ECE³ project aims to recruit and retain a diverse set of ECE students.

The ECE Student Ambassador pilot program began in November 2021 to support ECE students in four community colleges on four different islands: Hawaiʻi Community College (HawCC), Honolulu Community College (HonCC), Kauaʻi Community College (KauCC), University of Hawaiʻi Maui College (UHMC).

The goals of the program are to assist community college faculty with:

  1. Supporting current ECE students’ ongoing engagement in ECE programs.
  2. Promoting each community college’s ECE program within the local community.

The Student Ambassadors (SAs) support faculty supervisors in making sure ECE students’ concerns are heard and needs are met. The SAs are well equipped with knowledge about the campus resources, policies, and procedures, and are ready to orient their fellow future ECE teachers. Additionally, the SAs help foster a vibrant student community within each campus by building and strengthening relations between students and faculty.

Without further ado, meet our friendly and dedicated Student Ambassadors!
