Lorraine Kouao is a Ph.D. student in Global and International Education in the Department of Educational Foundations. Her research interest focuses on international students’ experiences and the implications for sustainable development in their home countries. Her previous experience includes working with educational exchange programs. She is currently working as a graduate research assistant on a multi-level education intervention program that promotes positive youth development and life skills learning among at-risk youth in Hawai’i for a successful transition into adulthood. Lorraine holds a BA in Business Management from the University of Central Oklahoma and a MA in International Development from the University of Maine.

Research Interests

Lorraine’s research interests include student mobility and human capital. For her dissertation, she is interested to focus in international students’ experiences and the implications for sustainable development in their home countries.
