Scott Miller

Coordinator: Student Support and Guidance, Fowler Unified School District

Career Trajectory

I started my career as a political director on a congressional campaign, so naturally I transitioned into education. I received my Masters from NAU in school counseling and matriculated to UH where I completed my Phd in Global and International Education. During my time at UH I worked as a graduate assistant for a research project through the Curriculum and Research Development Group and then as an academic counselor with UH Student Athlete Academic Services. Following my graduation, I became a full time school counselor in California and then shortly after transitioned into my current role: Coordinator of Student Support and Guidance. My Phd is invaluable in my role as a district administrator; it allows me to apply my research, writing, and evaluation knowledge to education practice and elevates the services we provide students! I have also continued writing, but intentionally chose to move away from academic writing and move into fiction. 🙂
