Born in Kyoto and growing up in Okayama, Yuko became a naturalistic learner who loves nature and outdoor activities. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Waseda University. After an internship in Bali, Indonesia, she worked as a social studies teacher in Japan’s junior and senior high schools. While working at UNESCO school, she became interested in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). She graduated with a Master’s Degree in Global Leadership and Sustainable Development at Hawaiʻi Pacific University, where she focused her research on pro-environmental behavior and its determinants.
