OPIHI Handbook
Bringing students to the intertidal allows diverse learners to become involved in science, provides students with an authentic scientific experience, and fosters a sense of place and stewardship of their environment. This is a step-by-step guide for teachers to planning, preparing students, and implementing an OPIHI field trip.
Although OPIHI was developed to monitor the intertidal in Hawai‘i, most of the handbook is applicable to all place-based field settings and is adaptable across locations.
