Describe your own road to higher education.

Part of me always knew I wanted to be a teacher. I loved and respected the ones I had growing up and wanted to help others. After college and obtaining my masters degree, I taught special education for four years before coming to UHM as a MUSE Mentor. Life led me back to the classroom, teaching general and special education, for another six years. I feel very passionate about sharing the range of experiences I have had in helping future teachers navigate such a challenging and rewarding profession. My future professional goal is to finish my PhD.

What do you like to do outside of education?

I enjoy physical activity (dance, yoga, hiking, etc) and am involved in the theatre community here on island.

I'm interested in learning more about a degree or certificate in Special Education.
