One major goal of Tinalak is to educate the community and provide scholarly contributions on Filipinos and education. In 2016, the Tinalak council served as co-editors and article contributors for the COE Educational Perspectives Journal. As one of the only Filipino-focused education themed journals, this work is extremely valuable not only for what it means to be Filipino in Hawai‘i, but also for the body of knowledge of Filipinos in education since this kind of research is virtually non-existent. In line with the symbolic meaning of Tinalak, we hope this journal serves to inspire others to dream and serve a new reality in the educational achievements of Filipinos in Hawai‘i and beyond.
